Privacy policy
This policy explains what the Clothespun app does with information. It covers the app on Android and iPhone.
The short version
Clothespun works on your phone. There is no account, no ads, and nothing in the app tracks how you play. Your progress, stars, Daily Line results and settings are stored only on your phone, and none of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
The only information that leaves the phone because of the app is what is needed to run subscriptions, described below.
Who we are
The app is published by the developer named in the details at the top of this page. For any question about privacy, or to use your rights, write to the email address given there.
What stays on your phone
The app keeps these in its own storage on your phone:
- the levels you have finished, your stars, your streak and the places you have stamped in the album;
- your Daily Line results;
- your settings: language, light or dark mode, sound, haptics and reminders.
We cannot see or recover any of this. If you delete it or uninstall the app, it is gone, apart from any copy in your phone's own backup (see Backups).
Subscriptions and RevenueCat
Subscriptions are sold by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). They handle the payment, and we never see your card or payment details.
To know which plan is active on your phone, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc. (United States). RevenueCat receives:
- a random ID that the app creates on the phone (it is not your name, email or phone number);
- the store's records of purchases in this app: which plan, when it started and renews, trial status, price and country;
- basic technical details needed to answer, such as the app version and the phone's language. Like any internet service, it also sees the IP address of the request.
RevenueCat never receives your progress or anything about how you play. We use it only to know whether a subscription is active. Its own privacy policy is at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Sharing a Daily Line
The result card is an image made on your phone and handed to the share sheet. It goes only where you choose to send it. It shows no letters and no words, only the date, the number of pegs, the time and the basket result. A challenge link contains only the date and the language mode of the line.
Reminders
If you allow notifications, reminders are planned by the phone itself, at most one a day. Nothing goes to a server. Each kind can be turned off in Settings, and you can turn them all off in your phone's settings.
What the app does not use
The app has no ads, no advertising ID, no analytics or crash-reporting service, and no sign-in. It does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
Backups
Your phone's own backup (Google backup on Android, iCloud or computer backup on iPhone) may include the app's data, under your phone's backup settings. We cannot read it.
Your choices and rights
Settings → Delete my data removes your progress, stars and Daily Line results from the phone. Uninstalling the app does too. We hold no copy, so there is nothing else for us to delete. If you want to ask RevenueCat about the purchase record, or ask us anything about this policy, write to the email address at the top of this page.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Age
Clothespun is for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children, and it does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at the same address with a new date.
